EXPERIENCE

PVD World Music come from Haki Events series. In 2019, Chance Boas wanted to learn how to host concerts music to help promote inanga music and eventually be able to bring artists from Burundi and East Africa  to Providence, RI and vice-versa.

The goal was to build a strong music series that would recruit young Burundian and East Africa in USA to collaborate with youth in East Africa especially in Burundi.

The first concert took place at Machines with Magnets, 400 Main st, Providence, RI USA. It was sold out and we had to not let people in.

The performers included:

1. Miz marrow ( Hip Hop)

2. Grizzlies ( Garage Rock)

3. Jesse and the tree people ( Hip Hop Lo Fi)

4. Bochek ( Garage Rock)

Impact Report:

We raised $1000.00 and the money was divided equally amongst the band.  Machines with Magnets charged us $75 Dollar for sound personel. They also opened the bar during the show. Ticket were $6.00 at the door. I estimated 300 people at the show. Juan Hurtado was my helper to count people but he got drunk after he saw the turn out.  We were very excited because this was our first show. The people at Machines with Magnets were wonderful to us. This was also the first time in Rhode Island where we intergrate hip hop and garage rock on one stage. MizMarrow opened the show. She is of African America descendent.  This event was a major success.
