Join us Sunday, September 20 at the Southside Cultural Center of RI for our festival closing celebration with films starting at 3:00 PM, live music by Burundian musician Africa Nova at 6:00 PM, and Akinola Davies Jr.’s My Father’s Shadow at 7:00 PM!

About the event
Our closing celebration on Sunday, September 20 will take place at the Southside Cultural Center of Rhode Island, 393 Broad Street, Providence, RI, beginning with film screenings at 3:00 PM. As we do each year, we will celebrate and raise awareness of the art and cultural traditions of Central and East African refugee communities who have called Providence home since the 2000s. We are excited to welcome Burundian musician Africa Nova for a live performance at 6:00 PM. Out closing closing feature film, Akinola Davies Jr.’s My Father’s Shadow at 7:00 PM. We hope you can join us to close out five days of film, music, art, and community!
