About the event

In collaboration with the Ivy Film Festival and the Providence Children’s Film Fest, PVD  World Music Institute curates and hosts a special one-day films and music event celebrating Black History Month on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at the Granoff Center for the Creative Arts at Brown University. Beginning at 12:00 PM and ending at 8:00 PM, this celebration will showcase rarely seen full-length and short contemporary cinema and feature a virtual performance of the Inanga from Burundi and a live Jazz performance. This event is free and open to the public.

12:00 PM  -  Door Open

12:30 PM  - Virtual Inanga performance by Niragira Olympe

1:30 PM - Screening of Three Short-Films 

Session two 

3:30 PM - Screening of Casablanca Beats

6:00 PM - Live performance by Kweku Jazz Trio 

7:00 PM - Food and Networking
