In 2019, Tewari’s song “Dhuaan Dhuaan” which is about climate change garnered over 1 million

views on YouTube on the day of its release and his protest anthem “Woh Hum Nahin” was performed

during various protests in India. As the frontman of the Hindi rock band Ankur & The Ghalat Family,

he performs music that ranges from folk-rock to acoustic ballads with the group.

Tewari hosted the third season of MTV Sound Trippin’ – which saw him collaborate with several

artists from across the country from a variety of genres. He’s even a member of the Hindi Samiti with

the New Delhi government, which works to popularise Hindi in the region and is even a co-founder of

Kommune, which runs India’s largest spoken word festival called Spoken.

While Tewari has crafted quite a name for himself as a singer-songwriter, the artist has gone on to

develop as a prominent music supervisor for films in recent years. Tewari’s role as music supervisor

for the 2019 blockbuster Bollywood film Gully Boy saw him pick up numerous accolades, including a

Filmfare Award for Best Lyricist for the song “Apna Time Aayega.” In 2022 he led music for the Indian

noir romantic drama Gehraaiyaan, for which he was nominated for Best Lyricist that same year at the

International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA).

Tewari’s music supervision role continues as he’s worked on the upcoming film The Archies which is

set to be released in 2023 and he’s shared his expertise as a music supervisor on several other

feature films and OTT shows on Netflix and Amazon Prime Video too, including one that he’s writing,

show-running and co-directing called Janta Band.

As part of the first season of Coke Studio Bharat in 2023, Tewari served as the Creative Architect for

the show. 2023 also saw Tewari join forces with Indian film directors and writers Zoya Akhtar and

Reema Kagti to launch Tiger Baby Records, a music label with a focus on telling compelling stories

from the world of audio.

Away from the arts, Tewari has offered his time to a number of NGOs & non-profit organizations.

He’s worked with CRY for their 40th anniversary, which looked into the narrative of keeping one’s

inner child happy, with Leher India on The Minor Project for which he is an ambassador against child

labour and abuse and Asar India to help spread awareness about climate change.
