Air Tanganyika Music Festival Returns to Providence on May 16, 2026


Celebrating 9 Years of Providence World Music and Supporting Cultural Preservation in Burundi


PROVIDENCE, RI - Providence World Music Institute is proud to announce the return of the Air Tanganyika Music Festival on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the Southside Cultural Center, located at 393 Broad Street, Providence, RI 02903. Doors open at 6:00 PM, with live performances from 7:00 to 11:00 PM.

 PVD World Music aims to promote, celebrate and enrich the musical traditions and arts of African refugees and immigrants in Rhode Island for present and future generations. Each year, we host over 30 concerts free of charge to the public and in diverse communities in Rhode Island. We also host a five-day African Film and Arts Festival through Providence.
